Top AUGIE Priorities for 2023: agribusiness interface, centralized two-way communications, and submission ID and tracking

Organization also announces new agent leadership

NEW YORK (17 January 2023) AUGIE Group, an insurance tech exchange, has unveiled its initiatives for the new year, focusing on improving the download experience to help make the insurance journey more efficient for agents, carriers, and customers.

Key priorities include:

  • Submission ID and tracking: Increasing awareness and use of the industry standard assigning unique submission IDs to prospects so eDocs can be used and tracked during the quoting process enabling agents to quote electronically through their agency management systems instead of relying on emails.
  • Two-way eDocs: Advocate for the utilization of existing standards and technology for two-way eDocs which use policy numbers, tracking, and technology to move messages back and forth between agents and carriers. Documents will automatically be attached to the correct customer file and assigned to the desired workflow, such as underwriting or auditing.
  • Agribusiness download: This is a large undertaking, and AUGIE plans to undertake in small steps. The organization will talk with industry stakeholders, and identify initial priorities to improve download’s use in this sector. One goal: improving the sales process for small agri-business polices, such as roadside stands and fruit farms.
  • Provisioning and credentialing: Position agents to advocate for the ability to use management systems for trusted arrangements for user IDs, enabling single sign on to access all carriers. With the industry solution, agents—through their systems—would send messages to the carriers which would provision user codes, passwords, and credentialing. AUGIE will also be focused on de-provisioning where a single message goes to all carriers at the same time to restrict access for agency staff who have left.

AUGIE Group is the only industry forum where agents, brokers, carriers, MGA/Wholesalers, solutions providers, and association representatives can come together beyond their affiliations to discuss the technology and opportunities in the insurance distribution channel. As a grassroots-driven organization, the organization develops ways to take advantage of new approaches and overcome barriers to more automation among carriers and agents.

AUGIE Group Names New Chair

Christine Horne, Vice President of System Support at Bankers Insurance, was named AUGIE chair beginning on January 1, 2023. She succeeds Mike Skeele who will continue as Past Chair and will serve on AUGIE Group’s Executive Council.  Ted Joyce, Executive VP and Director of Insurance Agency Services will continue in his role as Vice Chair.

Horne said, “AUGIE provides an open environment for everyone in the insurance industry to discuss the issues that have significant impact on agents’ businesses. I am excited to take the helm and work to pinpoint the ways agents, carriers, and solution providers can work together to create meaningful improvements.”
